The Swedish UN-Association collects money for the UN:s work in Georgia

A burned doll, a blackened dress, bombshells, deserted possessions. All of these objects are collected in Georgia to remind us of the catastrophic consequences the war has had and still has for civilians there.

And the suffering in Georgia is not over.

A long and cold winter awaits the tens of thousands of people who have fled within the country. Before this conflict, there already were more than 200 000 internally displaced persons in Georgia.

The Swedish UN-Association has started a collection for the victims of the war. The message is that even though the armed conflict is over, human suffering has only begun.

The funds from the collection go to UNHCR:s work with the internally displaced persons in Georgia.

UNHCR provides shelter and protection, as well as health care and schooling.

On their website, www.fn.se, you can read more about the history behind the demolished objects and contribute to the collection.

You can also donate 50 SEK by sending an SMS with the text “FN” to 72900.

The objects can be seen across Stockholm on advertising spaces this autumn.
