South Sudan Emergency

Urgent Appeal:
Please help UNHCR save lives in South Sudan
Bombed out of their villages. Attacked by planes as they flee. It’s a living hell for the displaced people of Sudan.
Around 350,000 people have been forced to abandon their homes. And on top of this trauma, people now have little food.
UNHCR is providing shelter, vital services to keep people healthy, and ensuring they have a place of safety.
Violence in areas bordering South Sudan, including recent fighting in Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile states of Sudan, has driven some 130,000 Sudanese refugees into Ethiopia and South Sudan. UNHCR anticipates continuing arrivals over the next months with clashes continuing and humanitarian conditions deteriorating in the conflict zones.
UNHCR is actively engaged in the region providing protection and saving lives - since January this year 20,000 refugees have already been relocated from unsafe border regions.
Around the world, millions of people rely on the UN refugee agency for their survival. Some need our help for a short time. But many need the protection of our refugee camps for years.

Tens of thousands of civilians have fled to South Sudan to escape fighting. Help now.
